- The ease/difficulty of creating an account and navigating the site
- The usefulness/benefit of the resources to you and your child
- Any impressions, comments, questions which you would like to share with other parents this year
- How you've been able to use the resources
Just as a side note: this blog has received over 500 hits so far from 7 different countries.
I created an account the first day that we received the information. This process was very easy. My son and I explored the website together and I knew at that moment that my son would benefit greatly by using this website to review what was taught in class.
ReplyDeleteI bookmarked the website to my son's page and he logs on using his username and password. We work together and he works independently, listening and answering questions related to the math stories, guided practice or "learn" sections. The breakdown of the information is great and age appropriate.
It has been very convenient for me to print out pages from the book to reinforce what was taught in class.
Great website!
Thank you very much for your comments Mrs. S. That's very helpful to me. Now I am aware I should set up a class account every year. I am glad you are finding the Website helpful.
ReplyDeleteEach topic has several sub-topics just as presented in class. Each sub-topic has sections that teach the concepts and then provide guided practice. The practice consists of questions the child must answer out loud or on separate paper but not on screen. During the guided practice the Tools4Math icon appears which provides interaction with the concepts, but the tools are not easy to figure out. I need a hands on tutorial on how to use them.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your input. Your observations will inform those preparing in-service for parents.
